Actions that matter.
Art that includes.
Who are we?
Areté Foundation is an independent non-governmental organization based in Warsaw, operating since 2022 at the intersection of art, culture, education, and social activation. We create local and international projects, working with artists, educators, organizations, and communities across Poland and abroad.
We work for people and communities at risk of exclusion, as well as for anyone who wants to grow through creative activities.
Areté Foundation is a space where art, education, and social engagement meet to build a world that is more accessible, empathetic, and creative. We believe that culture can be a tool for change – personal, social, and systemic. That is why we combine different fields of art with pedagogy, participatory methods, and community-based approaches.
We operate in Warsaw, across Poland, and internationally, creating cultural events, educational activities, and artistic projects. We connect culture, art, and social engagement, giving a voice to underrepresented groups.

Our Mission and Values
We create an accessible cultural and artistic environment where every voice matters.
Our statutory goals:
INCLUSION THROUGH ART
We support social inclusion and culture that is accessible to everyone, regardless of barriers.
Accessibility
We design activities open to diverse needs and abilities.
Education and Art
We combine artistic practice with education and social engagement.
Social Responsibility
We respond to local needs while following European standards of inclusivity, equality, and participation.

Fields We Work In
Theatre and Drama
Dramatic theatre and theatre pedagogy are our space for working with emotions, the body, the voice, and improvisation. We create accessible activities also for people with no acting experience.
Performance
We create artistic actions at the intersection of theatre, movement, and contemporary art. Performance is freedom of expression, experimentation, and working in public or alternative spaces.
Dance and Movement
We conduct workshops in contemporary dance, intuitive and expressive movement, and dance therapy. We work with movement as a form of expression and a tool for developing body awareness and community.
Visual Arts
We implement projects in ceramics, painting, drawing, collage, textiles, and artistic installations. Participants develop creativity and learn to work with material, colour, and space.
Sound and Film
Our sound- and music-related projects explore various cultures and forms of artistic expression connected to music. In film, we create diverse formats and artistic approaches to filmmaking.
Art Therapy
Art therapy uses art as a tool for psychological well-being, development, and communication. Through various art forms, we support emotional expression, group connection, and personal growth.
Where Do We Work?
We work locally, across Europe, and globally — wherever art and education can foster accessibility, community, and social change.

Poland
We create and participate in local and national projects, working with NGOs, schools, cultural centres, municipalities, and local communities.

Europe
We work in international projects (including Erasmus+, Creative Europe, and the European Solidarity Corps), building networks of cooperation across Europe.

Worldwide
We participate in global initiatives, building intercultural bridges, sharing knowledge, and exchanging experiences with partners from around the world. We believe that art is a universal language that connects beyond borders.
